This unique handcrafted vase is created in the spirit of wabi-sabi and inspired by ancient vessels shaped by the passage of time. Beyond utility, the piece exists as an autonomous sculptural form — a trace of gesture, material, and silence.
The vase is hand-built from coarse French chamotte using the coiling technique. The surface is left unglazed, allowing the natural texture of the clay to remain exposed and emphasizing the density, roughness, and depth of the material. Its aged appearance evokes an object with a history — as if discovered, preserved, and brought into a contemporary space.
The form is intentionally restrained and balanced. Subtle asymmetry, irregularities, and traces of the hand-making process are left visible as an integral part of the concept and character of the piece. Rather than a decorative vase in the conventional sense, it is an interior art object that interacts with space, light, and stillness.
